Happy Tuesday, All That Stickles fans! Julie here from muddypawsinkyfingers with my first tutorial as a design team member. You may remember another tutorial I did on painting with Stickles found here, but I was a guest designer at that time. Now I'm on the team and very honored to be here!
Let's get started. Today's tutorial is very simple. I use Stickles to enhance, or embellish my projects. Whether I'm stamping, coloring, or in this case, embossing, Stickles can add that extra special touch to your projects.
First, pick an embossing folder that has some areas where Stickles will add character to the design, then run the embossing folder through the machine of your choice.
After you've embossed your paper, use the Stickles on the raised area to further emphasize the embossing. Here are two examples:
On the first example, above, I used Turquoise Stickles in the centers of the large flowers. In the bottom example, you can see where I have begun to use Yellow Stickles on the wings of the butterflies.
I inked the raised edges of the embossing on the flowers to give even more dimension here. I did this after the Stickles had dried.
Here's the finished card using the yellow embossed cardstock strip. The image is from one of our sponsors this month, Fresh Brewed Stamps.
And, a close up of the Stickle-enhanced embossing...
The last card uses the Juniper paper and Turquoise Stickles. The image, is again from one of our sponsors, Fresh Brewed Stamps:
Don't forget our Yellow Linky party! You have until Friday, April 12 to link up your projects.
And, mark your calendars for our Baby Blog hop happening on Sunday, April 21. There'll be great inspiration and I'm guessing even some blog candy to win ;)
I'm lovin' it, Julie! :) Congrats on being part of this DT! love the accenting on the embossing!!!
